PhD Student
Aurélien Riou
After obtaining my master's degree, I wanted to pursue with a PhD thesis, focusing on neurodegenerative diseases and their mechanisms. Therefore, in November 2022, I joined the Neurobiology for Brain Aging and Mental Health laboratory to study tauopathies, under the supervision of Dr. Amandine Grimm. The aim of this project is to study the impact of abnormal tau proteins on mitochondria and to evaluate different therapeutic approaches to rescue mitochondrial function in tauopathies.
PhD Student
Aline Broeglin
After a bachelor's degree in "biology and physiology of organisms" (University of Strasbourg, France), I am currently doing a master's degree in Cellular Neuroscience (University of Strasbourg, France). In January 2023, I joined Amandine Grimm's team to begin my Master training. The aim of my project is to study the therapeutic potential of mitochondrial transplantation in a cellular model of Alzheimer's disease. I am presently pursuing a PhD thesis on this topic.
Master student
Clara Gaillard
After obtaining my bachelor's degree in "Human Biology and Applied Health Technologies", I am doing a master's degree in physiology, neurosciences and behavioural sciences in Besançon. In January 2024, I joined Amandine Grimm's team to start my Master's training. My project aims to study the effect of oestrogen on mitochondrial dynamics in cellular models of Alzheimer's disease.
ALUMNI
Dr. Leonora Szabo, PhD
After obtaining my master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Basel in 2017, I worked as a trainee in the CNS biology group within Idorsia Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Allschwil for 9 months. In October 2018, I joined the Neurobiology Lab for Brain Aging and Mental Health of Prof. Dr. Anne Eckert under the supervision of Dr. Amandine Grimm as a PhD student. My project focused on the role of mitochondria-associated endoplasmic reticulum membranes (MAMs) in tauopathy.
PhD graduation: June 2023
